My first instrument was trombone. It wasn’t my first choice – it was the only choice  left because I started the school year late.  I was still excited to have any instrument and become part of a band making music with others. I played it through middle and high school and eventually joined my first band outside of school, Future Shock.  We played for several years in local clubs and other events throughout the Bay Area. After this band there were others  I eventually moved on to other instruments and developed an appreciation and love for the sound each instrument. My favorite two eventually became piano and guitar. 

Several years ago I had a scare with a broken finger has given me a deeper appreciation of the value of a musicians hands. Having to have a plate and screws inserted to keep my finger in place has caused me to really think deeply on which instrument I want to focus on going forward. I do not take for granted  the joy that I get from playing my favorite instrument – piano. Below are a couple of piano pieces it took a while to get to .
